The Port issues permits for:
- Construction within the Port’s jurisdiction
- Encroachment on sidewalks or streets within the Port’s jurisdiction
- Street parking related to construction and approved events
- Hosting public or private events on Port parks or piers
- Mobile vendors on the waterfront
Film productions requesting to close Port streets or sidewalks must have a permit from the SF Film Commission.

Construction Permits and Services
Special Events
The Port has numerous parks and piers for public or private events, movie nights, park markets, races, concerts, drone or fireworks shows and more.
Applications must be submitted at least 45 days before the event. Drone shows must submit at least 90 days before the event.
Some events may require permits or approvals from other City departments.
Mobile Vending Permit
The Port works with Public Works to issue permits for sidewalk vending. Vendors must follow all health and safety rules (SB 946).
