Apply for a Street Performer's License

To complete this form, you will need:

  • Copy of insurance for all performers. The Certificate of Insurance at the “Additional Insured” Section must include: “The City and County of San Francisco and the Port Commission and their officers, directors, agents and employees; Central Parking Inc.; Pier 39 Limited Partnership and The Bay Institute are included as Additional Insureds.”
  • Passport-sized (1½” x 1½”) color photo for performance badge for each performer.

Badge Fees for Groups:

  • Card without photo - $10/each
  • Card with photo - $25/each

You must pay all relevant fees to the Port before receiving your license and badges.

Performer's Badge

Each person in a group must have a badge. Everyone must wear their badge while performing. 

  • Replacement badges are $25/each.
  • Photos must be passport-sized (1 1/2" x 1 1/2" square photo).

Program Terms and Conditions

I agree to abide by the terms and conditions of the Street Performer Guidelines and Rules established by the Port of San Francisco and disciplinary actions related to non-compliance as defined in the Program and Section 2.1 of the Port Code.

Violations to Rules & Regulations may result in ID being revoked.

Summary of Street Performer's Guidelines

  • Perform only in marked “designated locations.” Stay inside the marked space and keep sidewalks clear. Don’t block emergency exits. 
  • Wear your Performer Card during shows. 
  • License is required to pick your schedule, use sound gear and sell items. No license? You can still perform during open or unscheduled time slots on a first-come, first-serve basis. 
  • Be on time. 30+ minutes late = lost spot. 
  • Keep an eye on your equipment. 
  • No dangerous props or open flames. 
  • Be respectful of others. 
  • Stay hydrated and take breaks. 
  • Report suspicious activity to Port staff
