MEDIA ADVISORY: Port of San Francisco Announces Public Open House Dates for Waterfront Resilience Projects

South Beach Coastal Resilience Project on June 2; Downtown Coastal Resilience Project on June 16

The Port of San Francisco will host public open houses for two Waterfront Resilience Program projects: the South Beach Coastal Resilience Project and the Downtown Coastal Resilience Project. These events continue the Port’s ongoing Waterfront Resilience Program public engagement efforts, launched in 2017, to ensure the waterfront and its critical assets remain resilient, safe, and accessible.

At both open houses, attendees can learn about projects, meet the project team, and share feedback.

Project Overviews and Event Details:

South Beach Coastal Resilience Project
Focused along the Embarcadero from Harrison Street to Townsend Street (Pier 22½ to Pier 40), this project will strengthen aging seawalls and wharves to address earthquake and sea level rise risks. It will also improve the public promenade and support mobility, helping this growing neighborhood and vital transportation corridor stay connected and adaptable.
