The sponsorship opportunity must support the Port’s goals and strategies as set forth above and shall advance as many of the following goals as possible:
- Attract diverse communities to the waterfront.
- Support historically underinvested communities adjacent to Port property such as Bayview and Chinatown neighborhoods.
- Support Port staff educational growth.
- Advance all Port divisions and align with Port business lines.
- Facilitate proactive engagement with targeted business communities.
- Expand the impact of the Port by reaching targeted business and residential communities
Applications will be addressed in the order they are received.
The Port will respond to applications within eight weeks of receipt unless more time is needed. If your application is approved, you will receive written notification, as well as Port logo files and example designs.
Please review all provided materials to ensure a smooth process and partnership. The Port is not responsible for the design or printing of any materials. All sponsorships are subject to the approval of the Port. Any use of the Port logo or name must be pre-approved.
Exceptions to these guidelines may be granted by the Port Executive Director.
Sponsorship Requirements
The sponsorship recipient shall include:
- The Port logo on press releases and/or promotional materials, including but not limited to website, media, social media, etc.
- At any time, the Port can request the recipient to provide the Port with criteria for outcomes relevant to the event such as:
- Year-end annual report
- Data for how many people were attracted to the waterfront due to the Port’s sponsorship, and/or metrics quantifying benefits to the Port and/or Port tenants
Audiences for intended sponsorships may include:
- Historically underinvested communities adjacent to Port property including Bayview and Chinatown neighborhoods.
- Qualified non-profit organizations aligned with Port priorities and equity goals.
- Communities and organizations that support Port business lines – cruise, leasing, real estate, development – and Port operations.
- Organizations and events that attract people to the waterfront and specifically add to the diversity of the waterfront.
- Organizations that serve historically underinvested communities or those facing economic or geographic barriers to access.
