Pier 70 Area - Building 14
(Heavy Warehouse) Building 14 is a double-gable metal structure measuring 140’ x 116’-6” in plan by 66” tall, for a total of 15,969 square-feet. It was likely constructed as part of the WWII effort. This structure historically functioned as a Heavy Warehouse where equipment was stored for work on heavy machinery in Machine Shop 1 and for outfitting ships with mechanical and propulsion systems. The building is currently used for storage by the Port’s maintenance division.
