2008 Port Building Code Revisions
Under the authority vested to the San Francisco Port Commission through Chapter 1333 of the Statutes of 1968 (the Burton Act), the Port Commission plans to authorize and approve the adoption of the 2008 Port of San Francisco Building Code, Electrical Code, Plumbing Code and Mechanical Code at the December 11, 2007 Port Commission Meeting. The 2008 Port Building Code will be effective January 1, 2008.
The proposed 2008 Port of San Francisco Building Code adopts, with amendments, the 2007 California Building Code, which incorporates by adoption the 2006 International Building Code with California amendments.
The proposed 2008 Port of San Francisco Mechanical Code adopts, with amendments, the 2007 California Mechanical Code, which incorporates by adoption the 2006 Uniform Mechanical Code with California amendments.
The proposed 2008 Port of San Francisco Electrical Code adopts, with amendments, the 2007 California Electrical Code, which incorporates by adoption the 2005 National Electrical Code with California amendments.
The proposed 2008 Port of San Francisco Plumbing Code adopts, with amendments, the 2007 California Plumbing Code, which incorporates by adoption the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code with California amendments.
In compliance with state and local noticing requirements, the Port has posted drafts of the proposed Port Codes for public review and comment:

The draft codes are also available for review at the Port's Building Permit Desk at Pier 1 between the hours of 8:30 A.M and 11:30 A.M. Monday through Friday.
The deadline for comments is 5:00 PM, November 23, 2007. All comments to the draft Port Building Code should be addressed in writing to:
