Focus Area: An advisory group for the Port of San Francisco, formed under Resolution No. 99-03 adopted by the San Francisco Port Commission on March 23, 1999. Members include representatives from organized labor, marine terminal operators, cargo shippers, cargo warehousing, ship repair, excursion operators, harbor services and other maritime industrial users.

The Advisory Committee was instrumental in working with Port staff and outside consultants to develop the Maritime Industrial/Cargo Plan for the Port. In the implementation of the plan, the MCAC continues to support, advise and act as advocates for the Port of San Francisco’s maritime industries.
Full committee meetings are held bi-monthly, and usually on the third Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The meetings are typically held at the Port of San Francisco’s offices located at Pier 1 or the Port Commission Meeting Room at the Ferry Building. All meetings are open to the public.
